ENERGY STORAGE & MOBILITY
If you're a startup working on energy storage and mobility, we're here for you.
The Energy Storage & Mobility Program at New Energy Nexus aims to advance global innovation in battery/electrochemical energy storage as well as electric mobility. The program has worked successfully with startups through launch, funding, acceleration and scale up programs. Initiatives include overseeing the CalCharge CRADA with national labs, the Bay Area Battery Summit, and Battery Challenge connecting startups to established companies for collaborative innovation activities.
EV and Battery Challenge
At LG Chem and Hyundai and Kia, the future of battery and electric vehicle technology looks promising and we are thrilled to be engaging with the startup community on building this future, together.
We believe in investing in you – in what you think and what you do.
We want to see your proof of concept ideas – at whatever stage, wherever it may take place, regardless of where you’re from. Sometimes it just takes different pairs of eyes to see potential for strategic investment – in our case, by two of Korea’s biggest supporters for startups and investors for mobile and energy storage solutions around the world.
WHAT WE OFFER
with National Labs
CalCharge is a battery and electrochemical energy storage membership program comprised of startups and established companies, research institutions, laboratories, and other key stakeholders. Technologies developed by CalCharge members support the electric vehicle, grid, and consumer electronics markets.
Operated by New Energy Nexus since 2012, CalCharge holds CRADAs (Collaborative Research and Development Agreements) with U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories. CalCharge LLC is the umbrella organization for CalCEF Catalyst—a 501(c)(6) non-profit.
Bay Area Battery Summit
World-class experts, global leading companies and highly sought-after startups will join to discuss how to implement the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Energy Storage Grand Challenge (ESGC) and scale technologies from the lab to manufacturing and the marketplace.
SUCCESS STORIES FROM OUR PROGRAM
ReJoule is developing a battery diagnostic platform as a drop-in solution to replace or embed into an existing battery management system for large battery packs, consisting of a modular hardware and a data processing software component.
