China Cleantech Launches Second Season
January 29, 2021
SHANGHAI – China Cleantech, powered by New Energy Nexus, is a podcast series that highlights leading cleantech entrepreneurs and organizations emanating from the Chinese ecosystem. Their mission is to facilitate a better understanding and dialogue of the unique environment in China and how cleantech practitioners adapt, build and scale their solutions that put the planet first. As the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases, more than the US and EU combined, China is fertile ground for climate change solutions; it will take cleantech entrepreneurs to continually service the food and agriculture, power, industry, and transport innovations to meet the ambitious goals of reaching carbon neutrality by 2060 set out by President Xi Jinping. This podcast takes a personal look at the people behind the solutions and how their experience and upbringing have shaped their path towards a net-zero future.
The first series of the China Cleantech podcast features cleantech entrepreneurs who have built their own companies from the ground up across a broad range of thematic areas. This includes Yuki Yu, Founder of Energy Iceberg, a research firm providing in-depth coverage of the entire Chinese energy system; Shuman Liu, R&D Director of Starfield, a Chinese meat substitute startup from Shenzhen; Li Xia, Founder and CEO of Shenzhen Power Solutions, a leading social enterprise dedicated to providing access to solar energy; Kaikai Yang, Founder of Dipole Tech, a startup that leverages blockchain technology to create microgrids; and Luhui Yan, Founder and General Manager of Carbonstop, China’s first carbon management software and service provider.
The second series launches this Friday, 29 January. China Cleantech broadens the scope of the first season by featuring intrapreneurs and innovators in the business, investment, and government sectors. Tune in to hear from Peggy Liu, Chair of JUCCCE, Jon Creyts and Dr. Ting Li of the Rocky Mountain Institute, Chubing Li of Golden Feather, Barbara Finamore, author of Will China Save the Planet? and more.
