About

Despite the rising demand for innovation in the energy sector, energy-focused startups remain underrepresented in local startup ecosystems. A needs assessment with Northern Mindanao’s Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) revealed two key barriers: limited awareness of the potential of energy startups and a lack of tailored support. Participation in roadshows and workshops has also been low, often due to the misconception that energy entrepreneurship is too technical or out of reach.

To address these challenges, the Energy Incubation Program empowers university TBIs with the knowledge and tools to better support energy startups. This intensive 3-day program is designed to strengthen the capacity of incubators and similar organizations, enabling them to guide and grow energy-focused ventures. Ultimately, it aims to scale efforts in building a dynamic, nationwide community of energy entrepreneurs.

Day 1

Understanding the energy startup ecosystem in the Philippines
