Ready, Spark, Charge: Hacking the Future of Energy is our annual clean energy and climate hackathon designed to accelerate the development of energy and climate ventures and technologies that can effectively tackle the energy and climate challenges faced by the country.

A 2-day online workshop on the most popular business models used in climate tech and the renewable energy sector

Online mentoring session

Selected teams will go through and online mentoring program and receive coaching to help polish their ideas and get useful insights from experts

Pitching with Impact: Startup Pitch Workshop

Learning session to help guide participants on how to effectively tell their brand story and showcase their solutions.

Mock pitching activity

For participants to practice and refine their pitch before presenting it to the judges.

Final round of mentorship

Finalists will receive mentoring from external experts and receive feedback to improve their startup concepts.

Who can apply

Professionals

A team of at least 2 members (max. 5 members) having at least one member based in the Philippines. The team shall join the competition with an existing startup concept relevant to the competition’s challenge areas.

Students

A team of at least 3 members (max. of 5 members) and preferably already affiliated with a NEX Philippines academe partner. Similarly, the team shall join the competition with an existing startup concept relevant to the competition’s challenge areas.

*NOTE: Students need to be presently enrolled either in senior high school or college and should submit an endorsement letter.

Cracking the Code: Business Model Bootcamp

The 2-day workshop showcases different business models commonly used in the renewable energy and efficiency industries. Whether you’re a student or a professional in the Philippines, this bootcamp will help you develop the right business model for your idea or innovation.  ️

This training forms part of its efforts to promote the “Ready, Spark, Charge: Hacking the Future of Energy” hackathon. The session aims to equip hackathon participants with insights into diverse business models that can serve as inspiration for their ventures.

Is there a particular industry or category of solutions that RSC is considering for acceptance?

Yes. RSC 2023 exclusively welcomes startup concepts within the realms of energy efficiency, energy access, solar integration, circular economy, and transport industries. Further insights into the challenge themes are available here.

What are the judging criteria for this competition? Are there any distinctions between the criteria for the two tracks (Student and Professionals)?
